Horizon 2020 is the EU’s main instrument for funding research over the period 2014 to 2020 to ensure the global competitiveness of Europe.

The program has three priorities:

” Excellent science”: the objective is to fund science through funds coming from the European Research Council for senior researchers and funds for research grants Marie Sklodowska -Curie aimed at young researchers;

“Industrial leadership” includes a program to support small and medium-sized enterprises , financial instruments for innovation and a program to encourage the development of industrial technologies in sectors such as ICT , nanotechnology , robotics , biotechnology and space research .

“Challenges of the company” to support research in areas such as health , climate , food security , sustainable agriculture , security, intelligent transport ecologists and integrated energy safe, clean and efficient .

May participate in any undertaking, university or research center or any other legal entity established in a Member State, Associated country or in a third country , responding to calls for project proposals which the European Commission launched periodically , in accordance with the requirements laid down in the relevant specific programs .
